New proposal of the European Commission on the Revision of the Directive 2004/37/CE
It is in discussion in the European Commission the Revision of the Directive 2004/37/CE concerning the protection of workers against risks related to the exposure of carcinogens or mutagens agents during working time, ANIET has stated its position in Europe through the European associations, UEPG and Euromines.
ANIET who is interested in a secure, dynamic and responsible sector has demanded to the Portuguese government and Portuguese entities, who are involved in this issue, to defend the proposal of the European Commission and the Council EPSCO, Employment, Social Politics, Health and Consumers of keeping the limit value proposed for the respirable crystalline silica of 0, 1 mg/m3, following the example of the remaining country members, because it seems to be the most balanced value.
Once again and to promote a dynamic and competitive extractive national industry, which may insure the capture and the execution of investment, together with a sustainable exploitation of mineral resources, ANIET has defended for Portugal, levels of demand similar to the remaining countries.
