Since July 2020, ANIET has been running the Project Pedra + Sustentável, an initiative focused on supporting SME of the Portuguese Natural Stone Sector in responding to the emerging challenges, such as the management modernization, the digital and technological transformation, the transition to the circular economy and the efficiency in the natural resources management.

The progression in the value chain and the development of more competitive business models for our sector, especially in the international markets, will be possible only via the investment in innovation factors, through a holistic intervention approach that involves the dynamization of more critical areas from companies.

Therefore, with a focus on strategy, in the organizational structure and the technological infrastructures of the business fabric, this project will allow to offer a set of practical solutions to support governance processes, regarding:

- Financial management and literacy, for the leadership professionalization and creation of a strategic vision in organizations;

- Industry digitization, with the goal of the digital adoption acceleration and the technological incorporation in the sector;

- Efficiency in the use of natural resources, in the transition to new paradigms of circular economy and sustainability;

- A more efficient management of extraction processes through dematerialization and systematization of information related to operations.

Within the activities included in this 2-year plan, there are already underway initiatives such as the Management Control Referential for the Natural Stone and the Diagnosis of the Natural Stone in the Paradigm 4.0. The big news, which is already under construction, is the Platform of Extraction Processes Management, a technological solution free to use and free of charge for companies, as ANIET will soon make known to everyone.

The Project Pedra + Sustentável is an initiative of Portugal 2020 through COMPETE 2020 within the scope of the Support System for Collective Actions - Qualification.
